Algicides
Longlife Algicide
Longlife Algicide should keep your pool free from algae for between 3 and 6 months. 2 litres is enough to treat 12,000 gallons (54,552 litres) of pool water.
Algicide when applied regularly can significantly reduce sanitizer usage by reducing the algae demand on the main sanitizer product that is used. It can work in conjunction with Bromine, Chlorinated and salt water pools. It does not replace chlorine or bromine in the pool, but works in conjunction with the pool sanitiser - so adequate levels need to be maintained. The pack has clear instructions to guide you in using this.
Baquacil users - you should keep strictly to Baquacheck - as this is the only algicide that is suitable with with the Baquacil system!
Algicide
Copper-free algicide helps to prevent the growth of algae in swimming pools.
Algaecide should be used in conjunction with a pool's disinfectant - so do make sure that the free chlorine level is at or above 1.5mg/litre for the chemicals to work effectively together.
At the outset, dose the pool with 200ml of algicide per 100 m3 of water, (3 fl oz to 10,000 galls) followed by a weekly addition of 60ml to 100m3 (1 fl oz to 10,000 galls).
