Swimming Pool Debris Covers
We have a range of winter debris covers available for you to keep maintenance to a minimum this winter.
There are many reasons to use a winter debris cover
To keep your pool free from leaves and debris
To use longlife chemicals that last longer and keep the water cleaner
To prevent debris from staining a pool liner
To keep out small animals that can fall into a pool and get trapped!
Below is a guide on how to size your debris cover, please contact us if you would like us to work it out for you.
We would start by planning the size of the cover that you will need. As a general rule, a cover needs to be 30cms or 1 foot oversize on each edge (so a 12 x 24 ft pool would use a 14ft x 26 ft cover). You then take into account any Roman Ends, bays, steps or other features that vary the shape of your cover. It is easiest if a pool can be covered by a rectangle of a certain size, as special shapes attract more cost.
You will then need to choose the level of trim that you'd like - and our range is made up of Classic, Criss Cross or Executive Criss Cross Debris covers.
The Classic level of trim takes the material, cut to shape and hemmed, with webbing ties stitched at regular intervals. This size of cover is often enough for smaller pools and ponds.
The Criss Cross finish offers improved strength and durability over the Classic. Tough webbing is stitched down the full length of a cover and across its width, spaced at approximately 5' to 6' intervals.
The Executive Criss Cross is the top level of trim, with webbing spaced at 3' to 4' intervals, for extra strength and durability. Such a level of trim is needed on covers larger than say 30' x 15', and those fitted to pools that are exposed to windy conditions. All of our covers are made from tough, woven polypropylene webbing in either dark blue or forest green - each colour is of equal strength.
You might be able to select your cover size from the drop down list below (make sure you select the correct colour). We list popular sizes here - just to guide you - but if your pool needs a different shape or size of cover - please just call us. Extra featurs such as cut outs for steps and bay-shaping charges cost a little more.
If your cover needs to be shaped or requires cut outs, would you please send us a plan for the cutters at the factory - to show the exact location of the ladder handrails, steps and so on.
We can also help if you have an 'outsize' or freeform pool, such as an oval or kidney shape for example. We can also supply a range of fitment options, for decking, grass, pop up pins and suchlike. Please contact us for these options.
WARRANTIES: - Our Classic winter debris covers carry a 3 year pro-rata warranty. If you select a Criss Cross cover, these carry a 5 year pro-rata warranty!
PRODUCTION TIMES:- It can take longer to make a pool cover for you at different times of the year. The production of Solar covers can take over a week in the spring and summer, with a much shorter turn around time in the colder months. The demand for Winter debris covers increases steadily from September to Christmas, and these may take around 2 weeks, as there is often more detail work with these - for example in stitching the webbing and hemming. We apologise for any delays here, but we aim to get all pool covers made and shipped in the shortest time possible.

Blue 'Regular Criss Cross' Debris Covers
Our debris covers use the same tough woven polypropylene as it lasts so well! The Criss-Cross design has extra webbing stitched across the full width, and along the length of the cover for extra reinforcement.
This is really useful if your pool has a large area, or is maybe exposed and subject to buffeting from winds. There is extra reinforcement to the corners as well as anti-chafing strips on the underside. The webbing is spaced at approximately 5ft to 6ft intervals accross the width and down the length of the cover. Each reinforcement strap is attached to a stainless steel spring-loaded tensioner, which ensures that the cover can be kept taught on the pool, for effective drainage.
We can offer you a debris cover for a pool or pond -
- any size of cover,
- any shape - just call us for a measuring guide.
Our prices include DELIVERY AND VAT within our standard areas. The far North of the UK and offshore island addresses cost a little more to send parcels to. If you have any questions, just call or e-mail - info@swimfix.co.uk

Ladder Cut-outs in Debris Covers.
If your pool has a fixed ladder with handrails as in the picture, we need to attend to the detail of having neatly stitched cut outs for the tubing.
Please supply a plan to show the the position of your handrails in relation to the pool's shape, and tell us the the distance between the handrails. The cut-out slits are stitched and reinforced, with self-attaching material to hold the cover snugly in place.
Winter Debris cover Roman End
If your pool has a Roman End, or multiple Roman Ends then you will need to allow for this when ordering your winter cover.
The easiest way to allow for this in your calculation is to calculate your pools longest width, longest length, add on 1ft either side to allow for the cover to overlap your pool edge, and then add on this roman end cutting charge. (We simply calculate a large enough rectangle to cover the pool with pool edge overlap, and add a one off charge for trimming)
Our Roman end shaping charge is the same for every Roman end, regardless of size.
Winter Debris Cover Shaping
If your pool is not a square or rectangle, your cover will need to be customised to suit your requirements. We can offer you a cover any shape or size, but will need a plan of this.
Shaping charges are not always simple to calculate, so please contact us before ordering so that we can discuss your needs.
